Our Service Costs
We are always clear about the costs of our services. We offer a range of different ways in which you can obtain our specialist legal advice in relation to your family and child law issues to suit your individual circumstances.
Free Initial Consultation
We do not charge for your first meeting with us. You will have the opportunity to speak with your specialist family and child law solicitor, explain your situation and receive information about your options. We will assess whether you are eligible for legal aid. If you are not eligible for legal aid we will let you know the most appropriate costs plan for your case and the likely costs.
We offer a range of payment options to enable everyone to obtain the specialist legal advice they need.
In cases where you aren’t eligible for legal aid and the work is unsuitable for fixed fees our charges will be based on the time we spend on your case. Our charging rates from 1st October 2025 are:
Senior Solicitor – £250 per hour
Solicitor – £200 per hour
Paralegal/Trainee – £125 per hour
VAT will be charged at the rate that applies when the work is done. The current rate of VAT is 20%.
Disbursements
Disbursements are payments that need to be made to third parties in connection with the work required. Examples are court fees, payments for process servers to serve documents and alcohol and drug tests. You would be responsible for payment of such costs in addition to the company’s charges. You will be notified of the likely disbursements and the amount before any costs are incurred. Where possible we identify likely disbursements at the outset of your case.
